Fascial Stretch Therapy
Fascial Stretch Therapy
WHAT IS STRETCH THERAPY?
Fascial Stretch therapy™ is a table-based, assisted stretching technique which increases flexibility and strength, optimizes performance, reduces aches and pains, and improves Range of motion and athletic performance. Our Certified Fascial Stretch Specialists have utilized Stretch Therapy with numerous professional athletes including the NFL, MLB and others.
“Your fascia reacts to all stress-physical, mental and emotional- by tightening & stiffening. Since fascia covers everything from all of your organs to the circulatory system to the brain & nervous system to the musculoskeletal system and more, your whole body is at risk to react to the stress by tightening and stiffening. When your fascia is left unattended to, aging of the body, mind & spirit accelerates, function decreases & quality of life deteriorates.” – Ann and Chris Frederick, Creators of FST™
Stretch Therapy targets the fascia, the most prevalent tissue in the body which is full of nerves. Fascia is found around muscles, joints, arteries, veins, the brain, and the spinal cord. The health and function of all of these are a direct result of the condition of your fascial. There is NO medication or supplement that can improve your fascia and exercise alone does not optimally balance, align and improve your fascia. Fascial Stretch Therapy™ helps to reduce pressure and release stored stress in the fascia, improving circulation and flexibility while boosting energy.
The results of untreated fascia can lead to:
•Decreased joint
space resulting in degenerative joint disease, osteoarthritis and
more.
•Increased muscle tone resulting in trigger points,
strain, tendonitis and tears.
•Increased nervous system tone,
causing headaches and muscle tightness.
•Increased scar tissue
formation.
•Decreased blood flow, decreased energy and
increased fatigue.

Who Can Benefit From Stretch Therapy?

Everyone can benefit from Stretch Therapy. It improves mobility, improves tissue quality, and improves your quality of life!
Athletes
Stretch Therapy has been proven highly effective for a variety of athletes including Sprinters/Marathon Runners, Cyclists, Football, Basketball, Tennis and Baseball Players. Stretch Therapy is great for improving range of motion, functional movement, coordination, speed, strength, and athletic performance and reduces injuries.
Musicians
A career as a classical musician comes with many rewards. However, surveys of symphony members found between 64% and 76% suffer from complaints of the arms, neck, and/or shoulders. Many Pianists suffer from ganglion cysts, bursitis, tendonitis or other chronic pain/injuries. Repetitive motions, awkward positions, and excessive force, can all lead to pain and injury, which can hinder performance and can potentially cripple or destroy a musician’s livelihood and quality of life. Stretch Therapy can help tremendously in this endeavor to not only alleviate discomfort and pain but also act as a preventative measure to the above. We have a Certified Fascial Stretch Specialist on staff who is also a Classical Pianist. Not only does she understand Musicians’ needs, but she has had an active practice working successfully with other musicians for well over 15 years.
